Mustard and raw canvas lines cut vertically and horizontally across a dark field —
lanes in motion, channels of constant throughput.
The dark ground is total. The freeway doesn’t navigate around it — it moves
through it, indifferent. The raw canvas lines separating each lane are the only
reminder that something existed before the asphalt. Freeways are everywhere.
This painting doesn’t celebrate that. It simply states it, from above, with clarity.
