an evening amidst the canvas

for over a decade i have held the idea of hosting an intimate artist dinner where we are transported from the quiet, sterile setting of a gallery or museum to inside the paintings. to stay a while, to mingle amidst the still drying paint, to hear the journey the artist took to create the exhibition. for the pieces to have a new relationship with the artist, beyond the solitude of the studio. for collectors and art lovers to live among a collection for one evening. to enjoy music and food that is inspired by the art.

and then, as these things sometimes do, it simply became true.

angela stepping beyond her figurative work into the expansive genre of landscape felt like the perfect moment — an artist reaching into new territory, and an invitation to finally bring this dream to the table. chef corey’s menu moves through angela’s vibrant palette like brushstroke through colour. pam’s quiet expertise draws out the perfect complement in every glass. and lord knows — well, lord knows fills the room with something that doesn’t so much accompany the evening as complete it.
