Description
This vase was thrown on the pottery wheel without a bottom, then compressed between two boards into a narrow oval shape. The celadon glaze has been blasted with wood ash and soda vapor, resulting in the fine rivulets from the neck down the shoulder of the piece. The green of the celadon contrasts nicely with the soft orange of the woodfired porcelain.
