“The sign that sparked the idea for the show was the MOTEL sign in Coleman, Alberta. If you stand in the parking lot of the Cinnamon Bear Cafe and look up at it there is an invitation to make the mountains your bed for the night.”

'Park It'
36" x 36"
oil on canvas

“So much of language has more than one meaning, particularly in English, and the word park is no exception.

Placing this sign amongst the iconic view, at the top of the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier National Park, holds so many meanings in and of itself.

You are in an iconic park and you are vying for a parking spot to go out and play in the parkland. Too fun.”

'Home Made'

“Our culture travels full circle. Things come in and out of style, including where things are made. What was once seen as a necessity because of the cost, such as locally made furnitue, is now a luxury.”

“This eagle is now has heritage designation in Burnaby, BC and is back in it’s home on Hastings Street. It was something we would often pass on the way into the city as kids, and eagles are now something we often see flying over the tree tops along the river on our morning do walks.”

'Taking The Plunge'
40" x 40"
oil on canvas

“There are so many hikes here in Western Canada that lead you to a crystal clear, surreally blue lake inviting you to dive in. The water is freezing, refreshing and invigorating, and takes your breath away when you dive in, just like the scenery.”
