Description
Though made from white porcelain, this tumbler wears a cloak of almost entirely black due to where it sat in the soda kiln. Heavy, smoky reduction when soda ash was introduced to the kiln was trapped as a thick layer of black in the soda glaze, resulting in the black colour contrasting with the white underglaze pattern painted on this piece. Cool green celadon interior glaze.
