Description
The Eclipse is made from walnut, using the natural shift from pale sapwood to darker heartwood as the foundation of the design. A circular mosaic of reclaimed skateboard maple sits above the darker grain, while narrow hardwood inlays sweep across the opposite side.
The arrangement takes its cue from a solar eclipse: a single circle, crossing paths, and the movement between light and shadow. Each inlay is cut and fitted by hand to work with the grain already present in the board.
Knots, fine cracks and changes in colour have been kept visible. These are part of the original wood and make The Eclipse a one-of-one piece.
Made for serving cheese, charcuterie, bread and other shared foods, the board can also remain on display between uses.
