Description

These forms start with a bubble blown into a chunk of transparent colored glass. Gathers of clear glass are taken from the hot glass furnace which rests at 2100 degree F. Once the desired amount of glass has been gathered the bubble is shaped into a point with the marver (a steel table) and glass tools. After multiple heats and cooling/shaping, the glass is hung upside down and gravity allows the glass to fall. Shears (one of the many glass tools) are used to stretch the glass down a bit further and to create the contour.
