This painting comes from time spent with my husband, Dave, and our kids, travelling together through places that have become part of our shared story. Inspired by trips to Kimberley, BC, and the hoodoos of Canal Flats, as well as similar formations in Banff, the shapes, colours, and layered earth felt deeply connected to the way I work. The textures and marks echo the natural formations themselves, built slowly over time, shaped by experience. This piece holds the joy of being together, the wonder of the land, and the feeling of creating memories that live not in the past, but right here.
